BIODIESEL INFORMATION
- Biodiesel is a clean, domestically produced, renewable fuel.
- Very high flash point and no explosive vapors.
- As biodegradable as sugar and less toxic than common table salt.
- Carbon-neutral, no sulphur emissions, and less carbon monoxide, particulates and hydrocarbons than petro-diesel.
- Fuels local economy and stimulates domestic farm production.
“The diesel engine can be fed with vegetable oils and would help considerably in the development of agriculture. The use of vegetable oils for engine fuels may seem insignificant today. But such oils may become in course of time as important as petroleum.” - Rudolf Diesel, inventor of the diesel engine

 |
OIL & BIODIESEL
Biodiesel is a clean-burning, domestically produced renewable fuel that can run in any unmodified diesel engine. Biodiesel can be made from renewable resources such as vegetable oil, animal fat, and even used cooking oil. Biodiesel can be mixed with petroleum-based diesel at any level to create a biodiesel blend for diesel engines.

Currently, over 60% of the oil consumed in the U.S. is imported petroleum, largely from hostile foreign nations. This adds significantly to our international trade deficit and results in substantially increased military spending. Our dependence on foreign oil threatens our national security and is a rising concern as growth of developing nations like China and India, puts further demand on finite petroleum resources.
There are also rising concerns about the effects of global warming on hurricane frequency and strength, melting polar ice caps, and other extreme weather patterns giving us more reason to reduce our dependence on petroleum based oil.
We need a concerted effort towards efficiency and renewable fuels to address today’s problems. Biodiesel can help us reduce our dependence on petroleum and is the fastest growing alternative fuel in the nation. Biodiesel could comprise 10 percent of the diesel fuel market within the next decade, according to the U.S. Department of Energy. Its rapid growth is stimulating domestic farm production, while it reduces greenhouse gases, cleans up our air and pushes us towards energy independence!
